Project Overview
Since its establishment in 1988 AD (2045 BS), Shree Bhagvan Primary School has been a crucial educational institution for the children of Dordi village in Lamjung District. Despite the breathtaking surroundings, the school and its 130 students face significant challenges. The 2014/15 earthquake left a lingering impact, and limited government support has hindered both academic and physical development.
The resilient Gurung community, the main ethnic group in this area, has shown incredible determination. However, financial constraints mean many children traverse hillside valleys to attend school without proper uniforms. Recognizing these challenges, FourPOSE Charity embarked on a mission to make a difference.
However, the school’s infrastructure has deteriorated over time. The building, unchanged since its establishment, suffers from dilapidated classrooms, leaky roofs, and weak foundations, posing safety risks to the students. The head teacher has emphasized the urgent need for a safe and conducive learning environment to minimize potential risks from weather events.
The economically disadvantaged community and lack of resources make it difficult to improve the school’s condition. Additionally, the lack of educational tools leads to irregular attendance, as parents are sometimes forced to have their children work as laborers. Recognizing these issues, FourPOSE Charity has committed to transforming Shree Bhagvan Primary School by 2024-2025.
Our Mission
To complete the renovation of Shree Bhagvan Primary School by 2025, providing essential equipment and constructing necessary buildings to ensure the students have the tools they need to succeed in their education. We aim to create a sustainable environment that fosters long-term growth and development.
School Background
Shree Bhagvan Primary School currently operates with:
- 8 classrooms
- 2 library and resource rooms
- 2 basic toilets (one each for girls and boys)
- An unusable drinking water tank with limited water source access
